2.7Gbps MUX/BUFFER SIMPLIFIES REDUNDANCY
SUNNYVALE, CA—May 10, 2000—Maxim Integrated Products introduces the MAX3781 dual mux/buffer for use in designing redundant high-speed serial data paths. Each half of the dual part provides both a 1:2 buffer to create duplicate output data paths and a 2:1 mux to select from two alternate input data paths. This makes the part ideal for redundancy in serial backplane and system interconnect applications up to 2.7Gbps.
Data integrity is preserved by outputs that have only 15ps total jitter. Signal output levels are typically 1600mV for inputs as low as 200mV. The MAX3781 operates with a 3.3V power supply and has a power-down mode to disable unused buffer outputs.
The MAX3781 dual mux/buffer comes in a compact 48-pin TQFP package and has on-chip terminations at all ports compatible with 50-ohm transmission lines. Prices start from $6.49 (1000-up, FOB USA).
