Industry's First Dual, SP3T, Single-Supply Analog Switches with Negative Signal Handling Improve Audio Signal Quality
SUNNYVALE, CA-February 16, 2006-Maxim Integrated Products (NASDAQ:
MXIM) introduces the MAX4908/MAX4909, dual SP3T (single-pole triple-throw) analog switches. These switches handle negative signals with a single positive power supply, thereby reducing external component count and improving audio signal quality.
The MAX4908/MAX4909 feature integrated shunt resistors to ground.
This feature reduces audio popping and clicking sounds by depleting
the capacitive charge, which commonly builds up on the unconnected
port of the switch, to ground. In addition, an extremely low 0.38Ω
on-resistance, a low 0.35Ω on-resistance flatness, and a low 0.02%
total harmonic distortion yield excellent audio signal quality.
The MAX4908/MAX4909 are available in the extended temperature range
(-40 degrees Celsius to +85 degrees Celsius) and in both a tiny
12-bump UCSP™* (1.5mm x 2.0mm) and a 14-pin TDFN package (3mm x
3mm). Prices start at $1.20 (1000-up, FOB USA).
