Bangkok is the capital, largest urban area, and the primary city of Thailand. Maxim Thailand (MIPT) is located about 57km (35 miles) from Bangkok in the city of Chonburi, which sits on the Bay of Bangkok at the northern end of the Gulf of Thailand. The site is sufficiently isolated from the distractions and drama of metropolitan Bangkok, while providing nearly equidistant access to Bangkok International Airport (42km/26 miles) and the Laem Chabang Deep Sea Port (46km/29 miles). Thanks to the influence of the shipping, manufacturing, and tourism industries, Chonburi is second only to Bangkok in economic output. MIPT is situated at the flagship site of the Amata Nakorn Industrial Estate, the country's leading industrial estate.
Wafer Sort (testing at the wafer level, prior to package assembly), Final Test (testing after assembly), and Test Development are the principal activities performed at MIPT. Maxim is a pioneer and leader within the semiconductor industry in the transfer of Wafer Sort and Test Development technology to Thailand.
