Singapore is an island city-state located at the southern tip of the Malay Peninsula. Even with a rainy season, Singapore benefits from a pleasant tropical climate. Despite its small size, Singapore is highly cosmopolitan and diverse. Because of the country's multiracial population, many different cultural celebrations are held throughout the year.
One of the most popular tourist destinations is Sentosa Island, Singapore's premiere island resort getaway with many things to do all year. Another popular place is the Jurong Bird Park, which is the largest in the Asia Pacific region and one of the finest in the world. Tourists can also visit the Singapore Zoological Gardens, go on a night safari, or take a ride down the Singapore River on a bumboat.
The Maxim Singapore office is located close to the freeways on the second floor of an office building just outside the central business district. The site is within walking distance of Sultan Gate, the name of a road leading to the Istana Kampong Glam—a palace that was once the seat of Malay royalty in Singapore.
