Boston, Massachusetts

Boston is the capital and largest city in Massachusetts and one of the oldest cities in the United States. Boston is considered the economic and cultural center of the New England region and is sometimes regarded as the unofficial "Capital of New England." The city was the site of several firsts, including America's first public school in 1635 and the first U.S. subway system. With many colleges and universities in the city and surrounding area, Boston is also a center of higher education and a center for medical research.

The city's economy is based on research, electronics, engineering, finance, and technology—principally biotechnology. Some of the famous attractions around Boston include Fenway Park (home of the Boston Red Sox major league baseball team), the Salem Witch Museum, the 18th-century revolutionary Freedom Trail, Faneuil Hall, and the U.S.S. Constitution ironclad ship. There is always something to do around town: attend sporting events, go to the beach or a park, visit a museum, see a concert, enjoy the theatre, or grab a bite in a fine restaurant.

Maxim's Boston site, the Company's second-oldest design center after Colorado Springs, is located in North Chelmsford, Massachusetts, about 25 miles outside of Boston and only eight miles from the New Hampshire border. The site's business focus is on design, layout, sales, test development, and field applications. The largest customers are manufacturers of handheld consumer products. Products include power-management devices for cell phones, smart phones, PDAs (personal digital assistants), MP3 (MPEG-1 Audio Layer 3) players, digital cameras, and GPS (global positioning system) devices, as well as RF (radio frequency) and data converters targeted at cell-phone base stations.
