Seoul is the capital and largest city of South Korea. With a population of over 10 million, it is also one of the world's largest cities. Almost half of South Korea's entire population lives in the Seoul National Capital Area, and nearly a quarter in Seoul itself, making it the country's foremost economic, political, and cultural center.
Seoul is located on the Han River in the center of the Korean Peninsula. Seoul's influence in business, international trade, politics, technology, education, and entertainment all contribute to its role as a prominent global city. It is one of the world's top ten financial and commercial centers, and home to some of the world's largest companies, including Samsung, LG, and Hyundai-Kia. Seoul has served as host to landmark international events, including the 1988 Summer Olympics and the 2002 FIFA World Cup.
The Maxim Seoul office and design center are located in Gangnam, one of the 25 local government districts which make up the city of Seoul. Located in the southeast area of the city, Gangnam is one of the most affluent areas and is famous for core industries such as IT, international trade, and banking. Several popular shopping and entertainment areas, as well as places of fashion, culture, and art, are located nearby.
The two Maxim offices are home to over 60 employees, including IC designers, test engineers, field application engineers, sales and marketing communications personnel, a customer service team, and site administration.
