Paris is the capital of France and the country's largest city. Situated on the Seine River in northern France, Paris and its suburbs have a population of over 10 million people. Paris is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world, with over 30 million foreign visitors per year. The Eiffel Tower, the Louvre museum, and Notre Dame cathedral are just a few of the major attractions.

The Maxim France sales office, situated in a modern village called Voisins-le-Bretonneux, is located about 25 kilometers (15.5 miles) southwest of Paris and about 10 kilometers (6 miles) north of the famous Versailles Chateau. Voisins-le-Bretonneux is a city with two distinct districts. The first district consists of more modern structures built after the arrival of several large French industrial companies (Thales, EADS, and Renault). The second district features many older buildings that survived after the city was bombed in 1944 during World War II.

The Maxim France sales office serves as a field support center, with Field Application Engineers and Account Managers covering Schedule-A customers and managing Avnet activities for France, Spain, and Portugal. To function at a high level, this site places an emphasis on end-equipment (e.g., mobile phones, POS terminals) and specific technologies (e.g., automotive, industrial). The Maxim France sales office also houses an advanced power-supply application lab, which can build and customize board designs containing Maxim's DC-DC converter sockets for European customers.
