The city of Fort Collins, Colorado, is situated on the Cache La Poudre River, along the Colorado Front Mountain Range. Fort Collins is located 57 miles (92km) north of Denver, the capitol of Colorado. The city is really a large college town, home to Colorado State University. Fort Collins has a thriving local music circuit and a number of well-recognized microbreweries, including the New Belgium Brewing Company, the Odell Brewing Company, and the Fort Collins Brewery, as well as the giant Anheiser Busch Brewing Company.

Fort Collins was named Money magazine's Best Place to Live in 2006 and ranked #2 in 2008. One of the most popular places within the city is Old Town, a historic downtown shopping district that hosts a number of large festivals each year. One of these festivals, NewWestFest, occurs in late summer and features local businesses, cuisine, and music. The Fort Collins Lincoln Center is home to the Fort Collins Symphony Orchestra and regularly attracts national touring companies of Broadway plays.

Maxim's Fort Collins design center was established in 2000. The design center is part of the SSIP business unit and focuses on the design of high performance data converters, analog front-ends, and RF integrated circuits. The devices designed by the Fort Collins team are used in cellular infrastructure, medical imaging, and cable television infrastructure equipment.
