Q
- readings/second
|
    2009-08-06 |
Hello,
My only complaint is regarding the datasheet. I couldn't find any information about when the first temperature value is available, after startup, and how many conversions/second are made. The problem is that if you try to read the temperature values to many times/second (about 10), you woudn't get any value because the "low" state of CS interrupts the conversions and the readings will provide the value zero. After tests i observed that 4 readings/second are possible.

This is a valid comment. Guidance about the maximum rate at which you can read conversion results should have been included in the text. You can dig the information out of the data sheet (using the maximum conversion time specification, for example), but it’s not clear how to determine the maximum sustainable conversion rate. We plan to add this information on the next revision of the data sheet.

Hello,
do you have any values/measurements of ripple rejection from Vcc to the thermocouple wires? During our EMC-measurements we have problems when coupling HF (acc. EN61000-4-6) to the main power supply.
best regards

I a making a PID controller with this chip.
Is there any thing special I need to do for the connector terminatin on my board.
People scare me that it will create a junction and I will end up with an error. Some guidance on this is appreciated.
I have no interest in making it complicated.

With regard to connector termination -- I spoke to technical support and they will reply to you directly.

Not a chance of 10x samples a second, the datasheet states between 0.17 and 0.22 seconds for the conversions, as Q stated above, 4x per second are possible
