I'm not sure what you mean by isolated JTAG. There are two cores on the MAXQ3108 - the User core (which is the master), and the DSP core (which runs from a RAM code space loaded by the User core). There is a JTAG interface on the MAXQ3108, but only the User core is capable of running in debug mode (breakpoints, tracing, etc.) The secondary DSP core does not have JTAG/debug capability.
