- how to interface to a laptop with RS-232
|
(no rating) 2009-10-14 |
Hello;
I bought 20 x DS18B20 (TO-92).
I want to use a laptop to log temperatures.At least, that was the plan.
Can I e.g. connect the wire (pluss ground) to a RS-232 Com-port pin? (pluss ground)
In that case does there exist some Software example how to read-write the data via the comport?
If not, any other way? Parallell-port? In that case, any Software examples?
Thanks,
Kenneth Wikeroey,

Kenneth,
The AN244 circuit does not connect to a COM port. It interfaces to a microcontroller. Please see AN4373, OneWireViewer and iButton Quick Start Guide, for PC-ready 1-Wire Adapters, free evaluation software and installation. The software and its use are documented in AN3358, OneWireViewer User's Guide.
