Abstract: The MAX3840 dual 2 x 2 asynchronous crosspoint switch is designed for high-speed signals up to 2.7Gbps. A typical application is protection or redundancy switching of clock and data signals for SDH/SONET line termination cards. Due to its low random and deterministic jitter, as well as the small channel-to-channel skew, this device is ideal to support serial data line and system diagnostic loopback in SDH/SONET line termination applications.
