APPLICATION NOTE 516

Using Multiplexed Bus Clocks with a Microcontroller

Mar 03, 2003

Abstract: Multiplexed bus real-time clocks (RTCs) provide time and date functions to microcontrollers, such as the 8051 industry standard architecture. This application note highlights an example program featuring multiplexed bus RTCs such as a DS1687, DS12887 and DS17887 when used with a DS5000 microcontroller. A reference design schematic is included in this application note.
