APPLICATION NOTE 176

Using the DS1631 Temperature Sensor in DS1621 Applications

Apr 10, 2002

Abstract: The DS1631 ±0.5°C accuracy 2-wire digital temperature sensor is the next generation of Dallas Semiconductor's DS1621 temperature sensor IC. This application note is aimed at users interested in switching from the DS1621 to the DS1631. It describes the differences and similarities between the two parts including specification differences and DS1631 functions that allow software compatibility with the DS1621 but which are not documented in the DS1631 datasheet.
